Paying Attention to Details
Forgetting about the little things in life can be very costly. Recently, a Colorado man lost his life on a snowy road. He failed to set his seat belt and when his car spun out of control, he was thrown out of his vehicle and run over by another car.
This tragedy emphasized the importance of paying attention to the small things in life. It may appear that while little things are unimportant, they may be the difference between life and death. Whether it is simply buckling your seatbelt or running a multi-nation corporation, paying attention to the details is vital.
Jesus encouraged his followers to carefully live this life and to be responsible for what they had been given. In Matthew 16:10-11, Jesus stated that “whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will be dishonest with much.” The point here is that unless you prove yourself trustworthy with small things, you cannot graduate to the larger things in life. Jesus continues in verse 12, “so if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?”
Paying attention to spiritual details is paramount for the Christian. To grow in Christ requires each of us to do the small things well- prayer, scripture study, worship and fellowship. And we are to excise and avoid sin. Excellence in these areas will bring larger opportunities to serve in God’s Kingdom. Make it your heart’s desire to buckle up each day for God.

Please pray for marriages and families in Colorado and for Rocky Mountain Family Council.
