Spending Daily Time with God

  • God intends for us to be well-connected with his plans and purposes. He does not want us to be in the dark as to His plans for us and our families. Yet often, our daily busyness crowds out that connection with God.

  • What things crowd out and pinch your time with God? They may be excellent pursuits but they keep you from your connection time with our Lord. If you feel that God is distant or that you are unable to sense His direction for you and your family, evaluate how much time each day you quietly seek God.

  • The average American spends 40 percent less time with their kids than parents did in the 1960’s. Additionally, adults spend an average of 72 minutes each day driving to work, sports, kids activities or other community events.

  • Here is God’s antidote: Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul- Psalm 143:8.

  • Make time for God each day. Make it a part of your daily routine. How long and how you do it is different for every believer. But, the basic elements should include prayer, worship and study of scripture. Your local Christian bookstore should have excellent devotional resources. Additionally you can find resources online. Your relationship with God will be as vibrant as you invest the time into it.
